Mainly used to make decorative pipes, industrial pipes, and some shallow-stretched products. 201 stainless steel plate has the ability to resist general corrosion similar to the unstable nickel-chromium alloy 304. Prolonged heating of 201 stainless steel plates in the temperature range of chromium carbide levels may affect the performance of alloy 321 stainless steel plates and 347 in harsh corrosive media. 201 stainless steel plates are mainly used for high-temperature applications. High-temperature applications require materials with strong resistance to sensitization to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.
